What to Expect at our Friday Campus

Friday classes give FACE families a place to learn, build friendships, and enjoy community together.  Families choose the classes that fit their needs while parents remain on site throughout the time their family is on campus.  We meet in Westminster, near 112th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. For the safety of our students and families, we do not post the exact address online. Enrolled families receive the location and arrival details from FACE. The address is also shared with families who register for an approved tour or event.

Friday classes are available to families with:

  • FACE Premium Enrollment
  • FACE Premium NOI Membership
  • Preschool Only Enrollment

Basic Enrollment and Basic NOI Membership do not include access to Friday classes or FACE community activities.

How Fridays Work

FACE offers several class periods during the day. Your family may attend one class or stay for several. You do not need to sign up for a full day.

Each class has its own:

  • Grade or age range
  • Meeting time
  • Supply list
  • Class description
  • Teacher information

Check the current course catalog for exact class times and requirements. Families should arrive early enough to park, check in, and help students find their classrooms.

Fridays Are Not Drop-Off

FACE Friday classes are a family program, not a drop-off program. A parent or responsible adult must remain on-site while children attend classes.

Parents may be asked to stay in a classroom and help as an aide when their child needs extra support. This may include help with behavior, communication, mobility, personal needs, or staying involved in the lesson.

Students who are not in a class must remain with their parent or responsible adult. They may not be left alone in hallways, classrooms, or shared spaces.

If a student is left without adult supervision, FACE may charge a $50 fee for each class and each student involved. A second incident may result in removal from Friday classes without a refund.

What to do while not in a class

Families often have open time where one or more students or parents is not in a classroom. You may visit with other families, work quietly, eat a snack, or use an available shared space.

FACE may provide spaces such as:

  • A nursery for parents with young children
  • A quiet room for students or parents who need a calmer space
  • Family seating and gathering areas
  • The Bake & Brew snack bar when available

Parents remain responsible for their children in all shared spaces. Please help keep these areas clean, calm, and welcoming for everyone.  Remember, we are all the janitors!

What to Wear

In general wear what you're comfortable wearing.  Students should wear clothing that allows class participation.

Clothing should cover all undergarments and may not include political, offensive, obscene, or harmful words or images.  Full-face masks are not allowed.

Some classes may have added clothing needs, such as closed-toe shoes, an apron, exercise wear, or clothes that can get messy.

What to Bring

Each teacher will list any special supplies needed for class. Students may also want to bring:

  • A water bottle
  • A notebook and pencils
  • A backpack or tote bag
  • A snack or lunch
  • Any personal support items they regularly use
  • Something to do if you're not in a classroom.

Please label personal items with the student’s name.

FACE is not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.  While we do have a lost & found, this is a shared building that is very busy and it's never guaranteed to turn up there!

Support for Different Learners

FACE welcomes students with different learning styles, abilities, and support needs. Parents should clearly communicate the needs of their student in the student info section and communicate with the teacher directly if a student may need help with any of the following:
Communication (Verbal, Hearing, Reading, Writing, Etc.)
Sensory needs
Mobility or physical access
Staying focused or following directions
Managing behavior or strong emotions
Taking part safely in class activities (including allergies, medical challenges, etc).

Families and teachers can talk about what support may be helpful.  Each student is a different human and has different needs.  Some students it's just information for the teacher or a minor modification to the class.   In some cases, a parent may need to stay in the classroom and serve as the student’s aide.

A Shared Community

Friday classes work best when families help care for the community and the people inside it.  Every person on site is a FACE janitor.  We operate on a policy of Respect & Responsibility.  Parents are an important part of the Friday experience. Your presence helps create a safe, friendly place where students can learn and connect.
