Field Trips and Community Events
Field Trips
FACE plans family field trips about twice each month during the school year. Trips take place across the Denver metro area. Some field trips are free, while others have a fee. Enrolled families will receive trip details, dates, costs, and sign-up links in the weekly newsletter.
Note: Field Trips are never drop off events and transportation is not included.
Community Events
FACE community events give families many ways to have fun and connect. Events may include the Bake-Off, Art Show, Science Fair, holiday parties, year-end awards, kindergarten graduation, and FACE Field Day. We also offer activities away from the FACE campus for both parents and students. Past activities have included park days, camping trips, Secret Sisters, book clubs, young author groups, Dungeons & Dragons groups, and a fantasy football league. Families will receive event details, sign-up links, and information about suggesting or helping with activities through the weekly newsletter.
Teen Events
Our hard working AIM class organizes connection days for our teens throughout the school year. They have plans for both fun events like a school dance, and community service events throughout this school year. These opportunities will be shared via the weekly email during the school year.
In-Person Classes
FACE holds in-person class days on Fridays in Westminster, Colorado. The available classes cover preschool through 12th grade and most subject areas are offered.

- The listed cost covers 4 FACE Fridays
- An Adult must stay on site with your student(s)
Online Classes
Some FACE classes meet online.
Online classes can be a good choice for families who:
- Live far from Westminster
- Want more choices in their schedule
- Prefer to learn from home
- Want to connect with students in other places

What Are Fridays Like?
Fridays are more than a set of classes. They are a community day for the whole family.
Students may take one class or several classes. Between classes, families can visit, eat lunch, play outside, or spend time in a quiet area.
Younger children not in class must stay near their parents. They can play in the nursery or outside, work on quiet projects, and enjoy making friends.
Older students not in class often sit at tables together. They can make friends, form bonds, work on homework, and join together for activities.
FACE Classes Are Not Drop-Off
FACE is a family community. Our Friday program is not a drop-off program.
A parent or responsible adult must remain on-site while the family is at FACE. Children who are not in a class must stay within sight of their parent or adult.
Some students may need a parent to stay in the classroom at first. Families can slowly give the student more space as the student becomes comfortable. If a special needs child needs extra help, a parent may be asked to assist during class.
This policy helps us keep students safe and gives families a chance to be part of the community.
Parents Are Part of the Community
What do parents do while their kids are in classes?
- Talk with other parents, bring a craft, or catch up on reading.
- Work from "home" while at FACE
- Help set up or clean up spaces after activities. We are all the janitor at FACE.
- Bring simple activities to do with their kids.
- Help prep and serve lunch
- Volunteer in a classroom.
- Hang out in the nursery with other parents of little people.
- Basically, just enjoy time with other homeschool families
We want family involvement to feel useful and welcoming—not overwhelming.
Who can participate in classes, community events, and field trips ?
Classes, community events, & field trips are available to families who join as one of these options:
- FACE Premium Enrollment
- FACE Premium NOI Membership
- Preschool Only Enrollment
Basic Enrollment and Basic NOI Membership do not include access to FACE classes or community activities. Families may upgrade if they want to join.
A Place for Different Ages and Needs
Every family is different. Some students are excited to join right away. Others need time to feel comfortable. No one is ever forced to participate in a class. Being open and honest with the teachers about how to best help your student learn is key to success.
Please talk with us before enrolling in a class if your child may need extra support and you are unsure what the best fit is. Our teachers are fairly flexible, but they can't help your student if you don't share with them what the needs are. If your student requires an aide to be in a class, you or your designee must serve as that aide.
Before You Choose a Class
Review each course listing carefully. Look for:
- Student age or grade range
- Class hour
- In-person or online location
- Monthly fee and one time or semesterly supply fees
- Books or materials
- Instructor notes
- Pre-Requisites
Class space is limited and wait lists open if they are full. A class may also need a minimum number of students before it can begin. If your student is over or under the grade level for the class please reach out to get permission to put them in the class.
