Field Trips & Community Events

Explore, Learn, and Connect

Learning with FACE can reach far beyond the classroom. Premium Enrolled, Premium NOI, and Preschool families may join optional & ala carte field trips, celebrations, ceremonies, and social events during the school year. These activities give students and parents more ways to learn, make friends, and be part of the FACE community

Learning Beyond the Classroom

FACE plans optional field trips throughout the school year. Trips may take families to places such as:

  • Museums and historic sites
  • Nature centers and outdoor spaces
  • Farms and science centers
  • Plays, concerts, and cultural programs
  • Service projects and other local attractions

Field trips help students explore new ideas through hands-on experiences. They also give families time to connect outside of Friday classes.

The number and type of trips may change from year to year.

Events for the Whole Family

FACE also offers community events and celebrations. Depending on the year, these may include:

  • The FACE Bake Off
  • Art shows and science fairs
  • Holiday celebrations
  • FACE Field Day
  • Year-end awards
  • Kindergarten and senior graduation ceremonies
  • Park days and family gatherings
  • Clubs, book groups, and student activities
  • Special events for parents

Some events are designed for certain ages or grade levels. Others welcome the whole family. Activities may change based on interest, space, and volunteer support.

Who Can Participate?

For the 2026–2027 school year, field trips and community events are available to families with:

  • FACE Premium Enrollment
  • FACE Premium NOI Membership
  • Preschool Only Enrollment

Basic Enrollment and Basic NOI Membership do not include access to FACE field trips or community events.

Some ceremonies and special activities have added eligibility rules. For example, senior graduation is connected to the student’s high school enrollment option and senior services.

Parents and Caregivers Attend Too

FACE field trips and events are family activities. They are not drop-off programs.

A parent or responsible adult should plan to attend and supervise their children. Adults help students:

  • Stay with the group
  • Follow the rules of the location
  • Treat staff and other families with respect
  • Use shared spaces safely
  • Take care of personal belongings

FACE staff and volunteers organize the activity, but each parent or caregiver remains responsible for the children attending with them.

About Field Trips & Community Events

Events Are Optional

Families do not have to attend every activity. You can choose the field trips and events that work best for your family’s schedule, interests, ages, and needs.

Some activities may have limited space. Signing up early does not guarantee that every event will still have openings.

Some Activities Have Added Costs

Some field trips and events are free. Others may have an added cost for admission, tickets, supplies, food, or special activities.

Families will receive the cost before they choose whether to sign up. Prices may be different for children and adults.

FACE enrollment or membership fees do not cover every field trip, ticket, or event expense.

Transportation Is a Family Responsibility

FACE does not provide transportation to field trips or off-site events. Families are responsible for traveling to and from each location.

Before signing up, families should make sure they can arrive at the listed meeting time and remain for the full activity when required.

How Families Receive Event Information

Eligible families receive event details through private FACE communications. These details may include:

  • The date and meeting time
  • The exact location
  • Ages or grades invited
  • The cost, if any
  • What to bring
  • Registration instructions
  • Special rules for the activity

For the safety and privacy of our community, exact event locations and private registration links are not posted on this public page.
