FACE NOI Membership Options
Homeschool Your Way—with Support from FACE
- Some Colorado families choose to file a Notice of Intent, or NOI. This is common for students who take part in a public school enrichment program.
- When you file an NOI, the parent is responsible for the homeschool program and school records. FACE can give you tools, guidance, classes, and community support.
- Filing an NOI does not mean your family must change to a NOI Support Membership. Per the Colorado Board of Education, you can participate in public enrichment and be enrolled with FACE. If you are already enrolled with FACE, please talk with us before changing your enrollment.

What Is an NOI?
An NOI is a letter that tells a Colorado school district that you are starting a home-based education program.
In most cases, the parent must:
- File the NOI with a Colorado school district.
- File it at least 14 days before starting the homeschool program.
- Plan and oversee the student’s education.
- Keep attendance, test results, and other required records.
- Make sure the student completes the required school days and hours.
- Arrange testing or an evaluation in the required grade levels.
You file the NOI with a Colorado school district—not with FACE or the Colorado Department of Education.
Why Would a Family File an NOI?
You may need or choose to file an NOI if:
Your child attends a public homeschool enrichment program.
You want to keep your own school records.
You want support without enrolling your child in FACE Private School.
An NOI membership gives you access to FACE tools and services. It does not make FACE your child’s school.

Choose Your Level of Support

Basic NOI Membership — $100 per Year
Basic NOI is a good fit for families who are comfortable managing their own homeschool program.
Basic NOI includes:
- Basic recordkeeping tools
- Attendance tracking tools
- Report card templates
- A basic transcript template
- A basic diploma template
- Access to the FACE parent portal
With Basic NOI, your family creates and manages its own records. FACE does not review, sign, seal, or send transcripts or diplomas.
Basic NOI does not include FACE classes, field trips, consultations, or graduation services.

Premium NOI Membership — $150 per Year
Premium NOI is for families who want more tools, guidance, and community support.
Premium NOI includes everything in Basic NOI, plus:
- Guidance and consultations
- FACE Westminster and online classes
- FACE field trips, events, and community activities
- More complete recordkeeping tools
- High school transcript-building software
- Help with course planning and homeschool records
- Awards night participation
- Printed student ID cards and picture day
FACE classes may have separate class or supply fees.
Premium NOI students may build transcripts using the same software available to Premium private school families. However, NOI documents are parent-managed. They are not official FACE Private School records and will not carry a FACE signature or seal.

Testing or Evaluations
- Colorado home-based education students must complete a test or evaluation in grades: 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11
- Families may use a nationally standardized achievement test or work with a qualified person for an evaluation. The parent is responsible for choosing an option, meeting the deadline, and sending the results to the correct place.
- FACE can explain the choices and help Premium NOI families plan ahead. FACE does not automatically complete or submit the test or evaluation for you. Colorado law requires these evaluations in grades 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11.
High School Records
High school records are an important difference between NOI membership and private school enrollment.
With an NOI Membership
The parent is in charge of:
- Choosing graduation requirements
- Approving courses and credits
- Keeping high school records
- Creating and issuing the transcript
- Creating and issuing the diploma
- Sending records to colleges, employers, or other schools
Premium NOI families can use FACE software and consultations to make this easier. These records are still parent-issued homeschool records.

With FACE Private School Enrollment
FACE keeps the student’s official school records. Eligible Premium high school students may receive:
- An official FACE transcript
- A FACE diploma
- Sealed and signed records
- Transcript review and sending services
- Permanent alumni recordkeeping
- Support when a school or organization contacts FACE
If your student may graduate through FACE, compare the options before choosing an NOI membership.

Graduation for Premium NOI Students
Premium NOI seniors may take part in FACE’s graduation ceremony when they purchase the graduation package.
This may include:
- Participation in the graduation ceremony
- Cap, gown, and other regalia
- A parent-issued homeschool transcript prepared with FACE software
- A parent-issued homeschool diploma
FACE does not issue an official FACE Private School transcript or diploma to an NOI student.
Contact FACE early in the senior year so we can explain the deadlines, fees, and document choices.

Is an NOI Membership Right for You?
An NOI membership may be a good choice if:
- Your child attends a public enrichment program.
- You are ready to keep your own official records.
- You do not need a FACE-issued transcript or diploma.
- You want tools or community support from FACE.
Private School Enrollment may be a better fit if:
- You want FACE to be your child’s school.
- You want FACE to keep official school records.
- You want sealed report cards or transcripts.
- Your student plans to graduate from FACE.
- You want permanent transcript and alumni record services.
