Do your students have questions about money? Where does it come from? How do banks work? What is the big deal about taxes and insurance? Why do I need to save money? Don’t all businesses make a lot of money? This course will help answer these questions and so many more!
In this class, each student will create a virtual pet shop. They will learn how to purchase supplies, pay bills, write checks, hire employees, pay taxes, and manage emergency spending. Along with their “business”, they will also learn basic concepts of personal finance.

This class is set up as a game that the students play. There are many surprises along the way and the students learn that they can’t always control the outcome in the world of business.
Students will learn to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percents as they work their way through their business.
Materials to be supplied by the student:
3-ring binder to be used exclusively for this class (we will fill it), 7 folders with pockets and holes so they can be stored in the binder, calculator, and pencil.
One-time fee, due directly to the teacher.
One-time fee for this class (in addition to monthly class fee): $12.00
