This class is geared toward middle and high school students and will be open to parents as well. We will learn the basic terminology of sewing, parts, safety, and operation of the sewing machine, sewing basic seams, and constructing simple projects.
The class will move into the more advanced skills of reading and following a pattern, pattern layout, and finishing techniques which will give your sewing a professional appearance. This class will be taught mostly through supervision of personal projects after completing the initial skill building curriculum.
A sewing machine is recommended if you have one, no toy machines please!
Materials to be supplied by the student:
Full-size sewing machine (not toy machine)
Pins and pin cushion, or Grab-it
Colored pencils – one black, one white
One-time fees, due directly to teacher.
One-time fee for this class (in addition to monthly class fee): $20
