Spend a year learning to program with Scratch. Scratch is a visual programming language and an approachable way to learn how to code your own games, animated stories, presentation, and simulations. Along the way, you will discover a love for Math & Logic and learn how to solve problems the coder’s way. Making mistakes in this class is part of your learning journey.
We will go through and follow the lessons in the book Learn to Program With Scratch by Majed Marji for the year in a 2-Fridays cycle. The instructor will introduce and demonstrate the concept one Friday, and the next Friday students will program in pairs and work collaboratively with another student. Of course, students may work alone if they prefer.
Bring a laptop to class every week. Be prepared to work on homework for 2-3 hours per week at homes. Students must commit to reading the chapter assigned in the book and work on their programming homework.
