Class Description:
Students will read a variety of written works from authors around the world, including 4 complete novels with assigned completion dates. Through these works, students will learn to critically analyze and evaluate literature. They will learn to express their ideas clearly in essays, critiques, and other written responses.
This class includes grammar, writing, vocabulary, literature, and reading comprehension to help students continue to progress in their verbal and written communication skills.
This class is for all high school students. Each student will be expected to write essays. Time will be spent teaching the mechanics of writing so that beginners have an opportunity to learn and those experienced students will get a review. Writing assignments may be individually tailored to meet the specific needs of students.
Syllabus and grades will be posted via the school online gradebook, student, and parents, will need to access this regularly.
